Quick Navigation
Everyone is desperately waiting for Nvidia’s RTX 4000 GPUs to hit the market. Gamers are curious to know about the release date of the first RTX 4000 Series chip, its price, and the specs that’ll come along with it.
The Green Team claims that the RTX 4000 chips would be more powerful than the previous generation RTX 3000 chips. But the time will tell whether they would be able to beat some of the top-performers like RTX 3090, RTX 3080, and RTX 2080 Ti.
Around the corner, we have the AMD’s RDNA 3 and Intel’s Arc Alchemist chips to make their entry into the market. No doubt, the RTX 4000 Series is going to face tough competition on its way.
One thing is for sure, we would see improved ray-tracing and DLSS performance in the RTX 4000 Series graphics cards. But Nvidia has to offer competitive prices as well to put their “Lovelace” on the desk of every gamer. Hopefully, we’ll see reduced GPU prices by the end of this year, and this would be the best time for Nvidia to throw their Lovelace-based cards into the market.
Nvidia RTX 4000 Release Date
So far, there is no official release date announced by Nvidia. Rumours are that Green Team is going to announce something special after July 2022. And the RTX 4090 would be the flagship card in the “Lovelace” architecture to hit the market. But many people agree that Nvidia would place its first RTX 40-Series graphics cards in the last quarter of 2022.
Soon after the release of the RTX 4090, we’ll see a follow up of RTX 4080, RTX 4070, and RTX 4060. But it’s unofficial, and there’s no confirmation that Nvidia would follow this launch order. These are just assumptions based on how Nvidia has launched the chips in the previous RTX 3000 Series.
According to Tomshardware, Nvidia has already started the testing phase of RTX 40-Series AD 102 GPU. As Nvidia will also let their partners (third-party manufacturers like ASUS, EVGA, GIGABYTE, ZOTAC, and MSI) test their new product before they make a final decision.
Specifications
Again, Nvidia has not revealed what the first RTX 40-Series card would pack inside it. But on many forums and new blogs, it is confirmed that the RTX 4090 (if launched first) would deliver double the amount of processing power as the RTX 3090.
The Lovelace architecture will push towards more clock speed and CUDA Cores. Also, there would be improved Ray-Tracing and DLSS performance in Lovelace chips. Even the lower-end card, the RTX 4060 is expected to have around 4500+ CUDA cores.
Another thing to be concerned about is the minimum amount of VRAM on RTX 40-Series cards. There are higher chances that even the entry-level chips in the RTX 4000 family would have a minimum of 8GB GDDR6X memory. Rumours are that the RTX 4090 Ti could end up having a 46GB video memory, but it’s not confirmed yet.
With more performance comes more power draw. Nvidia has done a great job in making its graphics cards more energy-efficient while yielding maximum output. Let’s hope that the Lovelace architecture shows some pity on our old power supply. To be honest, it looks like the higher-end graphics cards in the RTX 4000 family would need a higher wattage power supply (up to 900W).
Price
Based on the previous data on how Nvidia assigns a price tag to their newer generation, it looks like the price of the first Founders Edition RTX 4000 GPU would be between $1500 to $2000. Nvidia had priced the RTX 3090 at the time of launch for $1500. As we know that the RTX 4090 will show somehow better performance over the RTX 3090, chances are that it would add another $400 to $500 to its overall price.
As far as the prices of RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 are concerned, it’s more likely that we’ll see a %15 higher price tag with these cards as compared to their predecessors, the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070.
But the final price tag is up to Nvidia, and we hope they’ll offer a competitive price if they want their graphics cards to fit the budget of every gamer.
Conclusion
So, this is the information we’ve gathered so far regarding the release date, specs, and price of the Nvidia RTX 4000 family GPUs. Keep in mind that all of this is based on the rumours and news that is circulating on the internet regarding RTX 4000 cards. The real results and performance of RTX 40-Series cards can only be measured once they are available to the end consumers. So some part of this information may turn out to be incorrect once the cards are available on the market. Therefore, we have to wait for the official statement from Nvidia regarding the launch date and specs of the RTX 4000 graphics cards.
