The GPU Republic Editorial Process

Our Mission

GPU Republic was built for and by GPU enthusiasts and PC gaming fans all over the world. On this blog, our sole goal is to become the most trusted source on the internet to help you choose the right graphics card for gaming, editing and/or mining according to your budget and needs. We’re reader supported, and as such we know that you deserve only the best, unbiased advice before you buy (or choose not to). We do the hard work so you don’t have to, a person who leaves our site knowing more than he or she did before is what we live for. We’re confident that our knowledge and experience will help you save time, money, and frustration the next time you want to buy a graphics card.

In the event you choose to buy something from one of the links on our site, we may make a commission at no extra cost to you. Whatever products we recommend, it’s because we truly believe in them, not because of the small commission we may receive. Please don’t buy any of these products unless you actually think that it would fit your needs.

Our Experts & Qualification

Nowadays, it’s unfortunately all too common for low-quality content to appear on the web. However, as true experts in the field of graphics cards and gaming, we strive to provide details and granularity that you won’t just get from reading compiled reviews on Amazon or other sites around the web. Expertise doesn’t come cheap, but neither does earning your trust and that’s what we’re all about.

Our team has been deeply involved with GPU’s and gaming since the 2000’s and before we publish any piece of content, it’s fully vetted by our team to ensure it is as accurate as can be (at the time of writing). If you find anything on our site that isn’t as correct as can be, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Our writing and editorial board is currently composed of:

Mosaab Jamal Ahmed

Mosaab’s love for graphics cards started way back in 2005, when he got his first GPU which was a 32 MB ATI Radeon. From that time on, his interest in graphics cards increased by the day and since then he’s have tested and used more graphics cards than he could possibly count. Having been burned over the years by a few cards here and there, he’s happy to help you with his prior experience and knowledge when it comes to picking any card from Nvidia or AMD so you can find the right card for you, the first time.

When he was young, he started to fix computers in my town and as he’s grown more experienced and learned more over the years, he’s been fortunate enough to turn this into his profession. It was just pure luck that his love of gaming lent itself so well into something that he could make his career, so to him, testing out GPUs and computers and sharing the results is his passion. He’s active on Reddit and other PC forums to help troubleshoot issues related to graphics cards and related PC peripherals.

Phil Gottlieb

Phil has been around gaming and computers since the early 2000’s playing RPG and strategy games, with the occasional Super Smash Brothers on Nintendo 64. After learning that games could be made even better by using different graphics cards and computers, Phil learned everything he possibly could to optimize what he had. Decades later, he’s managed to turn his passion for learning and optimization going by sharing his findings here on this site.

Gerry Cohn

Like Mosaab and Phil, Gerry probably spent more time than is normal playing video games over the past 20 years, and over this time he too has used and learned dozens of different graphics cards and systems. Today, unlike Mosaab and Phil, Gerry isn’t always the one to most often publish his findings, but he is a steady hand behind the wheel helping to review test findings and lend his experience to the latest articles.

How We Test & Review

Our research and testing methodology can be boring because it’s so structured, but that’s what allows us to stay unbiased and really put every GPU and device we test through its paces. These are the steps we take in our testing & writing process:

  1. Identify the topic to write about.
  2. Work with our partners in the industry to get access to the different graphics cards, devices and games in order to be able to test them.
  3. For graphics cards and devices, we’ll use them in different rigs, with different power sources, monitors and on different games in order to be able to see how each one performs. In any given test, we’ll compare different GPU’s against the same factors to eliminate any doubt.
  4. We cross-validate our findings and data against publicly available specs and data for each product to make sure they’re correct and point out where they’re not.
  5. We write up our findings and share them with the editorial board at GPU Republic to remove any potential faults and ensure that our readership gets the highest quality reviews and content possible.

Sources

When it comes to hard numbers and data, we go right to the source.  While we will have our opinions on which graphics cards and devices may be best for you given certain constraints, when it comes to output and numbers, we will always use publicly available data from the manufacturer or seller in order to give you the most accurate read possible. When you come to our site, you should be confident that the information you’re reading is correct and if you find something that looks off, please let us know.
